Greg Gilmore is the founder and president of The Apex Group, Inc. located in Houston, TX. The Apex Group is a firm that specializes in supporting ownership and market representation activities on behalf of the franchised automotive dealer.

The Apex Group focuses on dealership acquisition support as well as market study information that is beneficial in developing dealership add points. Clients include more than 500 dealers throughout the U.S.

Greg graduated from The University of Texas in 1988 with a BA in Business and immediately accepted a position with Toyota Motor Sales USA in California. In 1989, he was transferred to the Cincinnati Regional Office where he was a District Manager covering metro markets such as Detroit and Cincinnati. Following his tenure as a District Manager, he then rotated through a series of staff management positions including Distribution, Business Management, Dealer Development and Market Representation. Greg’s area of responsibility included the states of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. In 1998, Greg formed The Apex Group, Inc. in Houston, TX.

Speaking engagements include quarterly 20 Group presentations, National Association of Dealer Attorneys Convention – Atlanta, GA April, 2005 & Keynote Speaker for the Dealers Edge – Dealer Transition Conference – University of Chicago, May 2005. Also, Keynote Speaker for 2006 Conference on State of Acquisition Market held at University of Chicago. For the past seven years, Greg has written a monthly column for the automotive industry trade magazine, Dealer Magazine, covering various dealership ownership topics.
